Extensive Machining Facility Delivers Within The Tightest Tolerances

Precision Machining

Our onsite machining facilities are so precise they can work to tolerances of 10 microns which is less than half a hair’s width. We have over 50 machining centres including 4 and 5 axis machines and a variety of spindles. They can work 24 hours a day on complex contours and features in single setups, enhancing delivery rates, adaptability and value.

Expert Team

The facility is run by a team of highly-trained, machining specialists who have extensive experience of milling and turning techniques using aluminium, titanium and other lightweight metals. We carry out audits throughout the process using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other equipment as well as rigorous checks at the end to ensure the highest levels of conformance and quality.

Complex machining solutions

Our reputation for high standards means machining is a growing area of our business, and we continue to invest in new machines, such as MAMMs and Matsuura MX-520s, to meet our customers’ increasing needs and enable us to provide solutions to even the most complex machining challenges.

How it works

Once a component has been forged, we will machine it into its final shape. This can have various levels of complexity. Sometimes the component is ‘turned’ meaning it is rotated against the cutting tool but, most commonly, it is ‘milled’ which means a cutting tool moves around the component. A lubricant is often used during the process. Each component is measured at various stages to ensure it is completed with the required precision.
