Mettis’ assembly excellence officially recognised

We’re delighted to announce that we have been awarded AS9100 accreditation for our assembly operations in advance of the official opening of our new UK factory, called MACH 1, built in response to a multi-million-pound contract from a leading aircraft manufacturer.

This latest award, covering the assembly of critical components for aircraft, provides an extension to our long-standing AS9100 accreditation which recognises robust quality management systems in aerospace.

MACH 1, which is part of our vertically integrated, onsite operations, offers advanced levels of machining automation and innovative, no-faults-forward assembly technology for forged components. It houses six, new state-of-the-art machines integrated with Fastems systems which have been delivered in partnership with Heller Machine Tools and Seco Tools.

At Mettis, we have been providing assembly services for a number of years, in addition to design, tooling, forging, machining and test, and this extension to our AS9100 accreditation recognises our excellence in this rapidly expanding area of our business.

“We’re proud of how the whole team has come together to enable Mettis to receive this latest accreditation following a robust audit,” said Robin Jones, Technical Services Director. “We look forward to growing this area of our business further and delivering assembled components direct to more customers’ assembly lines worldwide.”
